Atlantic Driving School of Florida, Inc. began in Polk County in the fall of 1995 by a 1992 SCCA East Coast Regional Rallye champion. Realizing the lack of structured Driver Education in Polk Co. at the time, he decided to offer something different by incorporating his rallye “Point of Reference” methods into Behind-the Wheel drivers education. Sixteen years later that “point of reference” method of instruction is alive and well. ADS has successfully instructed over 2000 students from all over Florida and 15 foreign countries, improving their defensive driving skills and assisting in obtaining their Florida Drivers license.
Another very effective feature of our Behind-the Wheel courses is called, “in-advance-of.” We don’t use words like; almost, just about, pretty close, I think, etc. Thanks to our years of continuous refinement in our processes and techniques, our methods have allowed us to accelerate the learning curve of our students from the ages of 15 all the way to 72. Our full time instructors have a combined experience level of over 13,000 hours of lessons to their credit.
Our classroom environment is a unique combination of very experienced and skilled instructors communicating and sharing hands-on material in a very down to earth, real world delivery method that our students really enjoy and parents appreciate. The combination of sharing real life experiences from both instructors and students coupled with very current and pertinent course materials makes our classroom courses very popular with our local community.
Atlantic Driving School was the first Polk County Driving School to offer on-line classes. Our website, www.adsfl.com has links to all of our online, internet courses as well as many useful links pertaining to safe driving, community issues and general information of the driver license processes. We also offer a portal and link for online payment of Polk County Traffic citations, saving residents a trip to the Clerk of Courts office, saving fuel and easing the impact on our environment.
Our late model driver education cars are easily recognized by our yellow & black student driver signs. Each vehicle is professionally maintained and is equipped with dual interior mirrors and brakes. If you see us around the county, give us a wave, we are always happy to see our former students and potential new ones! Our classroom is located in our office on 905 Sixth Street NW, Winter Haven, FL and is air conditioned, well lighted and comfortable for taking one of our live classes. Many of our classes can be taken live, online, or by way of a DVD. We pride ourselves on being part of the solution to your driver license related issues.
